The Council Members of the Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) led by its President Datuk Abang Haji Abdul Karim Tun Abang Haji Openg paid a courtesy call on the Sarawak State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohd Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on 28 February 2017.
At the visit, they brought each other up on the same page and agreed to heighten the collaboration to further steer the State agenda.
“It was a fruitful and successful meeting” said Datuk Abdul Karim. He said Council Members briefed Tan Sri Morshidi on the structure of the newly formed Federation as well as its objectives.
SBF also unveiled its plan to introduce the Chief Minister’s Industry Excellence Award 2017 (CMIEA), which will be a signature event that sees participation by both the Federal and State government. “It is an award which will give due recognition to the corporate sector which is the main engine of growth in developing the state” added Datuk Abang Karim. The State Secretary hoped that SBF can lead the industry to further complement the government in its transformation initiative to drive Sarawak towards a developed State.
