KUCHING: The Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) elected new office bearers for the term 2018 to 2020 during its second annual general meeting (AGM) here recently.
Leading the office bearers are president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg, deputy president Datuk Philip Ting, and vice-presidents Datuk Abang Halmi Tan Sri Ikhwan, Tan Jit Kee, Datuk Joseph Salang, Dr Christopher Ngui, Dato Sri Peter Lu, and Tan Sri Dato' Sri Abang Khalid TSDA Abang Marzuki.
In a press release yesterday, Abang Karim said SBF has an exciting line-up of events and activities, which will include the inaugural Sarawak International Business Exhibition and Conference (SIBEC) 2018.
“SIBEC 2018 aims to promote the adoption of digital technology supporting Sarawak businesses in their move towards Industrial Revolution 4.0,” he said.
He thanked members for their endorsement and hoped SBF would speak in one united voice to champion the interests of the business community in Sarawak.
Launched on Sept 9, 2016, SBF is an umbrella body representing key organisations and industries in Sarawak.
It has charted a number of significant milestones such as the Chief Minister’s Industry Excellence Awards (CMIEA) 2017 and Business Mission to Kalimantan last April.
