KUCHING: Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) is organising Sarawak International Business Exhibition and Conference (SIBEC) 2018 on October 12 and 13 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
The inaugural event, which is supported by the state government, will serve as a platform for the public and private sectors to converge and discuss, interact and explore opportunities.
SBF President Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg, at a press conference today at Sarawak Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce (DUBS) commercial centre, said about 600 delegates, both local and foreign, are expected to attend the event.
There will be nine speakers, including those from China, the Philippines, Australia, Singapore and Taiwan.
“This (SIBEC 2018) will be very interesting and informative to focus on business, looking at ideas and connection for future development of the state and to support the transformation of Sarawak’s digital economy,” he told reporters.
He also said the event would help to promote tourism, having organised pre- and post-conference tours for the delegates.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to present a keynote address on Oct 12 at 9:20am.
