BESA mission is to strengthen the efforts of BEBC Sarawak by providing comprehensive support and promoting regional integration and collaborative initiatives within the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP EAGA) region including addressing Bilateral Trade Issues, promoting connectivity to/with Sarawak, and embarking on ‘soft diplomacy’ to promote Sarawak to the World.
1. To enhance the representation of Sarawak’s private sector within the BIMP EAGA region
2. To provide support for BEBC Sarawak in its initiatives to facilitate trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
3. To promote greater collaboration and partnerships among businesses within the BIMP EAGA region.
4. To facilitate the participation of Sarawak’s businesses in regional development initiatives.
• Organizations of Business Networking: BESA organizes networking events and forums to connect business leaders and entrepreneurs from Sarawak with counterparts in other BIMP EAGA regions as well as other Chamber of Commerce around the world.
• Capacity Building: BESA will organize training programs and workshops relevant to enhance the capabilities of businesses in Sarawak under the 5 pillars and 8 clusters of BIMP EAGA which are:
i. Food Basket Pillar:
- Agribusiness Cluster
ii. Connectivity Pillar:
- Transport Cluster (Air, Sea, Land)
- Trade and Investment Facilitation Cluster
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Cluster
iii. Tourism Pillar:
- Tourism Cluster
iv. Environment Pillar:
- Environment Cluster
v. Socio-Cultural and Education Pillar:
- Human Resources Development Cluster
- Socio-Cultural and Education
