KUCHING: The Asia Leadership Forum (ALF) returns for its third edition this year on May 15 at Imperial Hotel here.

The forum is organised by Center for Asia Leadership Initiatives (Cali) in collaboration with Jeffrey Cheah Foundation and Kolej Sunway Kuching, with support from Sarawak Business Federation (SBF).
According to Cali president Samuel Kim, the forum will feature a total of six speakers from Harvard University, including himself, who will be sharing their ideas on the future of leadership.
“We are going to give different perspectives or themes on leadership and our talks will be focusing on what are we going to do today to embrace the better future to come,” he said at a press conference held at Chemsain Building, Jalan Rock here yesterday.

Commenting on the forum, SBF president Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said the response during its last edition, also held in Kuching, was very positive, adding that the topics discussed and conveyed were well-received.
He then expressed his hopes that this forum will make a return to Sarawak next year.
“The federation supports the initiative by Kolej Sunway Kuching and this leadership group headed by Kim to bring this interesting topic on leadership on an ongoing basis for Sarawak and Malaysia.
“I think that the quality of the things that you want to convey (at the forum) is very high, and I appreciate the quality of the knowledge that you are going to share with us as it is very relevant worldwide,” he added.
It is learnt that the forum will also take place in Kuala Lumpur on May 16. Those interested to participate in this forum may visit https://alf.asialeadership.org/ for registration.
Prior to the press conference, Kim launched the sixth edition of the ‘Rethinking Asia’ book series.
According to Kim, ‘Rethinking Asia 6: How Leadership Can Be Taught’ features essays written by eight Cali faculty members, sharing their insights and practices on teaching leadership.
“Consider this book as a combination of eight different books put into one. Each of the authors here, they talk about the different aspects of leadership,” he added.
Also present at the event was Kolej Sunway Kuching chief executive officer Joseph Lim.
